How to Remove Candy Stains
Step 1:
Make the Dawn-Water solution by adding a cup of warm water to a spray bottle or other
container. Add # of Dawn dishwashing detergent and stir or gently shake the solution to
ensure a thorough mixture.
Step 2:
Use a spoon or dull knife to carefully scrape away any chunks.
Step 3:
Start with plain water, applying a small amount to the stain and blotting with a clean white
cloth.
NorCal Pro Tip: Do not over saturate the carpet. Water is the only substnce you can add directly to the carpet
Step 4:
If plain water does not remove the candy stain use the Dawn-water solution. Apply the solution
to a clean white cloth and blot the stain. Continue to blot until the stain is removed.
NorCal Pro Tip: Blot the stain in one direction starting from the edge of the stain working your way to the center. This will prevent spreading the stain onto other carpet fibers.
Step 5:
Rinse with water by spraying the dampened area. Blot the area with plain white paper towels
to remove the excess moisture from the carpet.
Step 6:
Layer several paper towels onto the stain and place a small heavy object on the paper towels
to draw out any remaining moisture and to prevent wicking.
