Discover the Difference

There is clean and then there is the cleanest carpet in the county clean.  In fact, 3 of the 6 steps of our process strategically removes soils.  It also ensures maximum effectiveness in removing the soils from your carpeting.

These steps are also industry standard steps of the carpet cleaning process.  If you higher a cleaner who misses one step you are paying for a below standard cleaning service!

For more scientific and detailed information please explore the steps below.

Step 1: Vacuum

Up to 79% of the soils in your carpet cannot be removed with solvents or a wet cleaning process.  These soils are the dust, dirt, sand, and minerals resting at the top third of the carpet pile.

In fact, if we were to attempt to skip this step, any moisture we add would create mud making rendering it harder to remove.

If you hired a carpet cleaner who doesn't vacuum first, your carpet is not going to be as clean as they should be.

Step 2: Pre-Conditioning

Once the dry soils are removed,  what is left is a mixture of sticky soils and dry soils that have bonded together. This is the grease and oils you may have tracked in .  The only way this type of soiling can be easily removed is with a pre-conditioner, sometimes called pre-spray.

It will break down the soiling by emulsifying the soils to suspend it away from the carpet fibers for easier removal, we call this soil suspension.

If your cleaner were to skip this step, it would become harder to remove because the soils would remain stuck to the carpet fibers.

Step 3: Agitation

Once the pre-conditioner is sprayed we use a CRB (Counter Rotating Brush) Machine to work the pre-conditioner deep into the carpet fiber.  The agitation of the brittles helps to scrub stubborn soils away from the carpet fibers.  The bristles also travel down below the carpets surface and draws up the heavy soils from the bottom two-thirds of the carpet pile up to the top for easier removal.

If your cleaner doesn't add a pre-conditioner, odds are they will not do this step either.

Step 4: Extraction

With our Hot Water Extractor (HWE) we spray hot water and detergent to rinse away the suspended soils and vacuum it out of your carpet.

All cleaners will extract...without all of the previous step this step becomes less effective in maximizing how much soil is being removed.

Step 5: Grooming and Scotchgard

Utilizing a carpet rake or grooming rake we separate the carpet fibers allowing your carpet to dry faster, and giving it a smooth uniform appearance.

For an additional fee we can apply Scotchgard (R) to help protect against wear and stains.  We also groom again after to ensure your carpet is uniformly protected.

Step 6: Drying

Using low profile air movers specifically designed for carpet we can reduce dry times to about 2-4 hours.  In most cases the first rooms we clean are completely dry by the time we leave.
